The purpose of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test ( FCAT ) is to measure student knowledge and understanding of reading, writing, science, and mathematics content. The FCAT, administered to students in Grades 3-11, consists of criterion-referenced tests (CRT), in each of these subject areas. Test results assess a student's progress towards meeting the Sunshine State Standards (SSS) benchmarks for their specific grade levels and content areas.
